There are so many reasons why we should eat (or have a smoothie!) after we finish a workout. Refuelling our bodies is integral to both post-exercise recovery and the building up of muscle. We get that it’s not always possible to go home and cook a meal after every class or gym sesh though, so with that in mind, we’ve made you two smoothie recipes! Quick to make and easy to take with you.

CHOC BANANA SMOOTHIE

1 medium banana (ideally frozen!)

1 tbsp raw cacao powder

1/3 cup of low-fat greek yoghurt (can replace with milk for a thinner consistency)

1 cup fresh blueberries

Optional:

1 tbsp honey (to sweeten)

1 tbsp chia seeds

LEAN AND GREEN SMOOTHIE

1 medium banana (also ideally frozen!)

1 cup coconut water

1/2 cup fresh spinach

1 tsp matcha powder

1 cup diced mango

1 tsp spirulina

Optional:

1 tsp chia seeds

 

Just put all ingredients into a blender and then blend until smooth!
